Project Description

Journey To The Lowlands is a project that began in early 2013.

A road movie that recounts the dream beyond the frontier of the inhabitants of the plains, immersed in a still unknown microcosm, where life flows slowly.

Journey To The Lowlands – Valeria Sacchetti – Crowdbooks Publishing
Here, time is fragmented, blurred, dreamlike and the water has its own music and whispers the stories of the inhabitants.
Family ties, the bucolic landscape, places and animals: here, in the lowlands, everything is connected, everything flows and everything remains.

Journey To The Lowlands – Valeria Sacchetti – Crowdbooks PublishingThese are tales of lands below sea level, enclosed by mountain ranges and furrowed by rivers that overflow during the winter season.Journey To The Lowlands – Valeria Sacchetti – Crowdbooks Publishing

The dream of a red Emilia has now evaporated; the earthquake has mown down a large part of the area, unemployment, alcohol and pollution have done the rest: but people continue to work and hope that this hard time will pass, they are tempered to face the challenges of everyday life.

Journey To The Lowlands – Valeria Sacchetti – Crowdbooks PublishingHere one is used to the thick fog that remains for months and covers a vanished peasant world that should not be sought but felt spiritually.
Here the souls of our fathers and mothers echo like the sounds of a distant time.
