Project Description

Fullness in Emptiness in is a work of 36 photographs and as many haiku poems, completed in 2015. A psychedelic journey in which readers are accompanied between visions and thoughts that take shape through photographs and haiku poems. The book is divided into six imaginary chapters, each of which begins with an opening – an entrance door to an inner dimension – geographically and physically tells a crossing of a month from Marrakech up the Erg Chebbi Desert: walking to the border between Morocco and Algeria.

Biography

Born in Italy (1979), Valerio Bellone is grew up between Palermo and Milan. Since childhood, encouraged by his parents to travel, develops a great curiosity about cultural diversity. Due to the ability to store his own emotions and to urge those of others he becomes passionate of the photography.At the age of 19, after getting a diploma in Graphics and Advertisement, he decides to take a trip of 6 months in the Australian bush, a place that will become a source of inspiration.In 2002 he wins a scholarship that allowed him to enter at the IED (European Institute of Design) in Turin. Thanks to this course of study, after earning the degree in Digital Design in 2005, develops a passion for the new frontier of digital photography and starts his professional path.After spending some time in Turin and Palermo, working for various advertising agencies, he returns to Australia where he remains for a year, producing landscape photos for tourism agencies. On his return to Italy (2007), he starts to work as photographer at the Ancient Greek Theatre of Segesta for the theater season Segesta Festival. So he discovered his passion for the human figure and decides to move for a period in Japan, to observe the culture that has turned every single gesture in art.His stories and reportage, ranging from human affairs to traditions and contemporary cultures, devoting also space to landscape photography and visual experiments.Bellone tries to capture a world behind the scenes and he defines himself an observer who tries to leave a trace of memory of the people he meets along his journey, mixing the reportage style and the personal visual research.His works appeared in international newspaper and magazine and his photographs have also been used for catalogs of art and entertainment.He has been recognized with important awards, such as the PX3 (Paris, 2010 and 2012), the Black & White Spider (Beverly Hills, 2012), the Sony World Photography Awards (London, 2014), the Photo Masters Cup (Beverly Hills, 2014) and the MIFA (Moscow, 2014 and 2015). His works has been exposed in solo and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
